The reporter asked about the incoming CEOs salary and the council salary register.

RESPONSE

The City of Onkaparinga is classified as a Band 1 council under the independent South Australian Local Government Remuneration Tribunal. In South Australia, CEO remuneration bands are determined by the tribunal, not by councils.

CEO remuneration is set within the tribunal’s prescribed Band 1 total remuneration package range.

The specific total remuneration package for the incoming CEO is confidential at this stage and will be published in Council’s salary register in accordance with legislative reporting requirements once the appointment formally commences.

Council can confirm that the CEO’s remuneration is within the applicable Remuneration Tribunal band for the City of Onkaparinga and as such is provided for within the 2025–26 budget, adopted in July 2025.
