Application fees are payable on lodgment of your request and are non-refundable. This is non-negotiable as Council conducts a formal investigation into the subject property, regardless of the outcome of the application. Please refer to the Schedule of fees and charges


Under regulation 49(5) of the Planning Development and Infrastructure (General) Regulations 2017 ("the Regs"), Council are not required to make documentation available for public inspection or permit copying (or photographing) of the following:

  • any plans, drawings, specifications and other documents or information that relate to Building Rules assessment which are not considered necessary for determining whether planning consent should be granted; or,
  • any of the above documents that may unreasonably jeopardise the present or future security of a building.

In preparation of submitting an Information Access – Historic Development application, please take note of the following:

  • Council is not able to provide copies of development documents without Owner Consent, unless the applicant is the current owner of the building/land.
  • Some development files may not be available from council, and the condition or quality of some documents contained therein is not guaranteed for reproduction purposes due to possible deterioration.
  • Council reserves the right to refuse the viewing or copying of any documents due to copyright, privacy or security reasons.
  • If you are not the property owner, the owner may be notified of the request but will not be provided details of the applicant.

How long do these applications take to process?

Once a completed application is received, the Development Support team will advise the applicant if the documents are available. The request may take up to 20 business days to be processed.

Applicants will be directly contacted and advised of the outcome.

I submitted an application form, but didn't receive what I was after. Can I still request for a refund?

No, refunds are non-negotiable. Per the application form you completed; in Part A there is a mandatory section that admits:
