Heritage photography competition

City of Onkaparinga is holding a heritage photography competition in 2026 to celebrate and showcase Onkaparinga’s rich built heritage through photography and encourage creative interpretation of heritage values.

Nomination period

The nominations are open from 3 August to 14 September 2026.

Categories

The nominations are currently open for the following four categories:

1. Shops and dwellings
   Photos of local heritage listed shops and dwellings, visible from the street.
2. Wineries and agricultural buildings
   Photos of local heritage listed wineries and agricultural buildings that are accessible to the public or visible from the street.
3. Churches and halls
   Photos of local heritage listed churches and community halls within the council area.
4. Young talent
   Photos of local heritage places in the council area, taken by young people under 18 years.

How to enter

Entry is free and open to non‑professional photographers who are residents of the City of Onkaparinga.

Awards ceremony

The winners will be honoured at a ceremony on Sunday 25 October 2026. There is $500 cash prize per category.

The winning photos will be showcased at the ceremony.
