Privacy and terms of use

The City of Onkaparinga respects an individual’s right to privacy, and always considers this against any requirement to share information in the interest of safety and wellbeing.

We will only use personal information in our possession for the intended purpose unless:

  • permission is gained to use it for another purpose
  • it is necessary to information share for promoting safety and wellbeing
  • it is required and authorised by law
  • it is reasonably necessary for the enforcement of criminal law or law imposing a financial penalty.

Our Internet Service Provider collects and maintains a record of anonymous traffic data for statistical purposes.

We use a range of third party software. By using these services, you will be bound to the privacy statements and terms and conditions of those sites, and therefore we encourage you to read and have a full understanding of what their policies are.

Whilst we strive to protect data transmitted over the Internet, we do not warrant and cannot ensure the security of any information which you transmit to us. Accordingly, any information which you transmit to us is transmitted at your own risk.

Electronic newsletters (Mailchimp)

The City of Onkaparinga uses Mailchimp to provide electronic newsletters to and communicate with subscribers about the Council and goods and services supplied by the Council.

You can unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time by selecting the ‘unsubscribe’ option in every email sent to you by Mailchimp.

Event bookings

The City of Onkaparinga uses third party software to manage its events and bookings. Please note to register for an event through these channels, you must agree to third party software Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Refunds, exchanges and replacements

The City of Onkaparinga will only offer a refund or exchange of a ticket if an event is cancelled or rescheduled (and you cannot attend the rescheduled event), or to the extent otherwise required by law (including the Australian Consumer Law). You must apply for a refund within a reasonable time. We do not offer refunds or exchanges as a result of a change in your personal circumstances.

If an event is cancelled or rescheduled, all liability is limited to the amount for which the ticket was purchased (including any fees or charges). Proof of purchase may be required for any refund or exchange. Unless required by law, we will not be liable for any other losses incurred by you as a result of the cancellation, rescheduling or relocation of an event, including any travel and accommodation expenses.

You should carefully consider the refund and cancellation policies of travel, accommodation and other goods or service providers when making arrangements for attendance at an event.


The City of Onkaparinga uses Mentimeter for online questionnaires which allow us to engage with our community through presentations on smart devices, no installation or downloads required.
