Recording of meetings

Privacy Collection Statement

All City of Onkaparinga Ordinary and Special Council Meetings held in the Council Chamber, Ramsay Place, Noarlunga Centre are recorded and published on www.onkaparingacity.com up to approximately 2 business days after the meeting date for the public’s reference. The meeting recordings will be retained on Council’s website indefinitely.

Confidential items will not be recorded.

The cameras filming and recording of the meeting are focused on the Elected Members. Any person who is seated, walks behind or in front of an Elected Members’ seat may be filmed and recorded in the footage. Comments made by members of the public seated in the gallery may be captured in the recording.

Recording disclaimer

Recordings of meetings are not an official record of the meeting; they do not replace the official Minutes of the meeting.

While every effort will be made to ensure recordings are available, the City of Onkaparinga takes no responsibility for, and accepts no liability, in the event that a recording of a meeting is unavailable.

Statements made by individual persons at a meeting, and which may be contained in a recording of the meeting are those of the individuals making them, and not of the Council as a whole. To be clear, unless set out in a resolution the Council does not endorse or support such statements.

The Council does not accept any liability for statements made or actions taken by individuals during a meeting that may be contrary to law, including discriminatory, defamatory or offensive comments. Such statements or actions are not protected by privilege and may be the subject of legal proceedings and potential liability, for which the Council takes no responsibility.
