  • I have been asked by The Advertiser to obtain details from each council about your plans for staff and elected member functions this Christmas.

Are you having Christmas functions? If not, why not?

Our policy is to allow staff to have three hours paid time to celebrate Christmas with their immediate teams, at their own personal expense. However, this year these arrangements will depend on the COVID restrictions in place and our need for business continuity.

If you are, will they be separate ones for indoor staff and outdoor staff and elected members or combined events?

As above, teams celebrate separately. There are no elected member events.

Where will they be held?
Teams organise their own events at venues of their choice.

How much has been budgeted for each of the functions you plan to hold for food, alcohol and entertainment?
The team events are entirely at their own personal expense.

What is the total amount you are planning to spend on Christmas functions?
Nil.
