The Greater Adelaide Regional Plan has identified Port Stanvac as a State Significant Infill Area.

MAB has released a Master Plan that sets out how the space at Port Stanvac will be developed into a mixed-use precinct with sustainability and community as its focus, including:

  • 3600 new dwellings including a minimum of 15 per cent affordable housing
  • approximately 40-hectares of protected coastal land
  • public beach access
  • a critical link connecting the 70km coastal park shared path network
  • a variety of public open spaces, featuring playing fields, lawns, planting, trees, and spaces for passive recreation
  • mixed-use precinct that includes neighbourhood-scale shopping, business, entertainment, and recreation facilities
  • a comprehensive range of industrial, logistical, warehousing, storage, research, and training land uses, and
  • improved access to the Lonsdale Railway Station

The City of Onkaparinga welcomes the announcement for the transformation of Port Stanvac – a unique, one-off opportunity to drive new economic, social and environmental benefits to Onkaparinga and the state.

Following years of advocacy from the council, community and local businesses, we’re focused on working with the state government and MAB to ensure Onkaparinga’s wishes are front of mind to deliver a balance of affordable housing, industrial land supply and open space, including access to the stunning coastline.
