We are committed to supporting the many community groups, businesses and individuals who make our community a vibrant place to live, work and play.

Pausing council’s 2024-25 grants program

A temporary pause is proposed for the Onkaparinga Grants program for one year. As a result, the draft budget proposes that no grants will be offered in the 2024-25 financial year. Consultation on the draft Annual Business Plan and Budget has now closed.

We understand that pausing council’s grants will impact many community groups, businesses and individuals who deliver a range of initiatives with the support of a grant from council. This move is only temporary, and there are many other external funding sources available for the next financial year. When our grants program is re-launched it will be aligned to the new Community Plan.

We provide a free grant finder tool to help you identify other funding opportunities via state and federal government, and philanthropic organisations. It's easy to use. Have a look and see what grants are available first, however if you require further assistance with identifying or applying for any of these external grants, please contact the grants team (08) 8384 0666 or email

We understand that community groups rely on external funding for their programs, projects and activities. Letters of Support are an important part of any grant request, demonstrating to potential funding partners that the application has support from your local council.  We are happy to provide a letter of support for grant applications where the outcomes align with our Community Plan 2030 for strong, vibrant communities, under our themes of People, Place, Prosperity and Performance, and supporting Strategies.
