Use of a reserve or foreshore

Please allow at least 4 weeks for the request to be considered.

We aim to support all requests, however in some instances the proposed activity may not be deemed appropriate and therefore may not be approved. 

Wedding ceremonies are permitted on council reserves or foreshore areas for between 0-130 people (max) and are subject to a permit being granted. Wedding receptions are not permitted on council reserves or foreshore areas. Please submit a Wedding Ceremony Application Form.

Casual, low-key gatherings such as BBQ’s and picnics with family and friends are permitted on council reserves or foreshore areas. An application or permit is not required for between 0-70 people. For small gatherings over 71 people a permit is required. Please submit a Use of a Reserve or Foreshore Area Application Form.

If organising a community event, the Event Application form must be completed.

Weddings

If you intend to bring in a third-party operator e.g food van, petting zoo, clown, face painter etc, please fill in a Use of Council Land application.
