Port Noarlunga beach

Crowds at Port Noarlunga beach

The picturesque steep red sandstone cliffs of Port Noarlunga and long jetty provide visitors with a scenic walk and a place to fish.

The Port Noarlunga Reef is fantastic for diving, snorkelling or simply viewing as the reef is literally a stones through from the jetty.   Over 200 species of marine plant and fish are found at the reef and include bryozoans, sponges, hydroids, ascidians and molluscs.

Port Noarlunga’s Aquatic Trail is excellent for dive novices.  Consisting of 12 markers, it starts next to the seaward end of the jetty and travels south inside through the gap and then north along the reef.

Volleyball nets are available during summer on the north side of jetty.

Dog are prohibited on a portion of Port Noarlunga beach between the most northern point of the beach that is bounded by the cliffs at one end and continues south to the southern end of the Port Noarlunga Life Saving Club, between the hours of 10am and 8pm during daylight savings time.

South of this area, dogs are permitted on-leash between 10am-8pm during daylight savings time.
