Media response - Morphett Vale park upgrades

• I'm writing a yarn on the new park upgrades in Morphett Vale and was hoping you'd be able to provide some comments. How expensive are the two respective upgrades? Will there be any road closures during construction? If so , how long for? Will the two parks be closed at any point? If so, how long for?

Subject to prioritisation and the approval of funding through the annual budget process, the upgrade of both reserves is expected to be undertaken during the 2025–26 financial year.

At this early phase of project planning and design, a budget of approximately $140,000 and $250,000 has been identified for Timothy Reserve and Emu Park respectively.

No road closures are anticipated, however areas within the reserve will be closed and not available to the public during construction.

A construction program will be confirmed with the successful tenderer and advance notice will be provided to the community closer to the anticipated construction date.

Wherever possible the remainder of the reserve areas will be accessible to the public.
