Media response - coronavirus

Response to On the Coast.
Is it possible the Mayor could make a comment regarding the Coronavirus and the Council region? Particularly upcoming events, how they will be affected and any support services Council can provide?
Comments attributed to Mayor Erin Thompson
With the impact of coronavirus escalating, we are monitoring the situation closely. Currently, council services are largely unaffected, but should this change we’ll immediately notify residents via alerts on our website and Facebook page.
City of Onkaparinga’s youth-led Regen Festival, which was scheduled for Friday 3 April, has now been postponed following government advice that non-essential mass gatherings of more than 500 people should be cancelled.
We are taking advice from the Australian Government Department of Health and SA Health.
Our priority is protecting the health and safety of employees and volunteers. We are also focussed on minimising disruption to the services we deliver; especially those that may reduce our communities’ ability to recover from this illness.
