This year, our Australia Day Bush Fair event will be held without fireworks to raise funds for the people and wildlife affected by bushfires.

We understand there will be some disappointment, but the decision to forgo the event’s fireworks was made out of respect for those impacted by the unprecedented devastation caused by the bushfires across Australia.

The recent and ongoing bushfires have decimated communities and their impact is not only immediate but will continue to be felt for years to come.

We will be donating 100 per cent of the money saved from the cancellation of the fireworks to the bushfire recovery efforts. Our contribution will be over $11,000, plus whatever gold coin donations are taken at the gates at the Bush Fair.

The funds will be evenly split between three charities (details provided below) to assist:

There will be donation tins at the entry gate and if we all contribute a gold coin, together we could help make a real difference to the affected communities.

We understand that not everyone in our community is able to provide a gold coin for each family member, which is why this donation is optional.

South Aussie with Cosi's Andrew ‘Cosi’ Costello will MC the event and help lead a tribute to bushfire victims and emergency service personnel who’ve worked tirelessly during the fires.

As always, they'll be stacks of free fun activities and a huge entertainment line-up including roving children’s acts, live music and Aussie displays.

When things get tough, Australians stick together. This Australia Day, we can show our support and help those communities impacted by the devastating bushfires get back on their feet.
