The MV2 Cup is Southern Adelaide’s flagship grassroots skateboarding competition, celebrating skate culture, talent and community. Heading into its fifth year, the competition has firmly cemented its place as a highlight on the local youth and community calendar.

Hosted by the City of Onkaparinga Youth team in partnership with Mv2 Skate Shop and Free Mind Skate School, the competition is held at annually at Niipu-niipu Wama/Morton Park (Morton Road Skatepark).

This popular event draws competitors and spectators from across Southern Adelaide, creating a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere that showcases the very best of local skate culture. The MV2 Cup provides young people with a positive space to connect, compete and build confidence, whether they’re skating purely for the love of it or progressing toward elite pathways.

The event forms part of a broader initiative delivered in partnership with the Roger Rasheed Sports Foundation, supporting free weekly skate coaching at local parks. Together, these programs create meaningful development opportunities, helping young skaters grow their skills both on and off the board.

Record participation has continued to grow in recent years, with strong competitor numbers and a vibrant crowd of supporters. The MV2 Cup continues to showcase the depth of talent across the south and highlights the real pathways that can emerge from grassroots competition, with competitors progressing into higher-level development opportunities, including Olympic pathway programs.
