A small pug cottage constructed in the late 1850's by James McCaffrey, an Irish quarryman and builder. Recent additions have been made in pavilion form attached to the residence by a low link. The cottage is in excellent condition and retains original timber and door joinery, although a verandah has recently been reconstructed to the original form and the front has been rendered and painted as was traditionally undertaken.
