Reconciliation in the South - Come together for a free, family-friendly event celebrating Reconciliation!

Wednesday 28 October 2026
10am-1pm
Ramsay Place Noarlunga Centre.

Reconciliation Week is an opportunity for all Australians, including those of us living and working on Kaurna Country to learn about our shared histories, celebrate the cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and recommit to the ongoing journey of reconciliation.

The theme for 2026 - All In - is a call to every Australian to step off the sidelines and commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day. Reconciliation is not a spectator sport. It asks something of all of us.

This year’s event is about bringing the whole community together to better understand reconciliation and explore meaningful ways to work it out together in the City of Onkaparinga. Guided by the cultural principles of respect and contribution, this approach strengthens community relationships and benefits the nation as a whole. We do this by working with Neporendi Aboriginal Forum Incorporated, with the support of Joining Hands and Minds, a network of local agencies that provide services to the First Nations community.

For the City of Onkaparinga, Reconciliation Week held special significance as we launched our Reconciliation Action Plan (Innovate) 2026–2028. Our commitment to making reconciliation part of how we work, every day, across our whole organisation. Built on Kaurna Country and serving a community of more than 170,000 people, we believe reconciliation is inseparable from our responsibility to improve the wellbeing of everyone who calls this region home.
