Church
Description
Constructed of random coursed freestone with brick dressings and set on a bluestone rubble plinth, the Church is typical of the 19th Century ecclesiastical style incorporating high walls, gabled front and lancet windows.
History
Built in 1894, as a Baptist Church, the building was designed by notable South Australian architect J.J. Cowell. The church was opened for worship in March 1895. A vestry and a classroom were added at the rear in 1908 and the front porch in 1958. In 1996, the church was purchased for use by the Uniting Church, in whose hands and use it continues.
