Dwelling
Description
Constructed circa 1874 with coursed freestone front and rubble side and rear walls, with contrasting stone quoins to openings. The verandah lacework appears to be of later date. Erected on part of Section 955, it was part of the unsuccessful attempt by John Carr to establish the township of Glengrove.
History
The house was built by George Prewett, who erected many of the buildings in the Kangarilla area. Prewett purchased an allotment in 1874 and it is likely that the house was built soon after this date.
