Built in 1880, to replace the former Victoria school, the school building was built to service both the Morphett Vale and Hackham townships, hence its location between the two old townships. The building accommodates 60 children and was used as a school for 100 years before being converted to a library and its current use as a funeral parlour. The building is constructed of stone from Trott's Quarry with brick dressings and a corrugated iron roof.
