The Matter of Facts

The Matter of Facts is a three-part ABC documentary series presented by journalist Hamish Macdonald that investigates the growing crisis of misinformation and the erosion of trust in truth.

The series explores a central question: how can society function if we can no longer agree on what is true? It takes viewers inside today’s complex digital landscape, where false and misleading information spreads rapidly and is often designed to influence what we believe, how we behave, and even how we vote.
