I'm hoping to speak with Mayor Moira Were about what the the RADL GRVL race not being held as part of the 2027 Santos Tour Down Under in McLaren Vale means for the region.

While it’s disappointing the RADL GRVL event won’t go ahead this year, we’re encouraged that it has been paused rather than cancelled.

Onkaparinga has a strong cycling culture and a long association with the Santos Tour Down Under, with our trails and roads attracting riders from across Australia and beyond.

We are pleased to again host the Tour in 2027, with the men’s and women’s races kicking off along a brand-new 116.4km route from Christies Beach to Willunga Hill on day 5 – Saturday 23 January – of the event.

We’re hopeful RADL GRVL will return in the future and showcase our region to a new generation of cycling enthusiasts.
