The journalist asked for clarity on the council's role in regards to a dog-poisoning incident

Response

The resident has taken the correct course of action by reporting this to police, as the alleged incident occurred on private property.

If people witness anything suspicious occurring on private property they should call SAPOL.

If people witness possible baiting or poison being placed in public areas, both SAPOL and council should be contacted.

In public areas, if such activity is confirmed, council will then place warning signage in the area and remove any suspicious material.
