Media response - cliff vandalism

Response to The Advertiser.

  • The journalist asked for a response to vandalism on a Port Willunga cliff/rock face, in which someone had carved a name into the rock.

It’s disappointing to see that someone has defaced part of these state heritage-listed cliffs, which are geologically significant and are there for everyone to enjoy.

Our Graffiti Reward Program offers up to $500 for information leading to the successful prosecution of individuals for graffiti vandalism offences. We encourage anyone who has seen the offender to let us know on 8384 0666 or mail@onkaparinga.sa.gov.au. All information supplied is confidential.

As this relates to a state heritage-listed place, we’ll inform Heritage SA and be guided by them in terms of potential punishment, while penalties under our by-laws may also apply.

We’ll also review our surveillance cameras to help identify the offender.
