You are invited to attend this year’s Reconciliation Week event.

Reconciliation Week aims to raise awareness about Reconciliation and invites people to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

The National Reconciliation Week 2025 theme, Bridging Now to Next, reflects the ongoing connection between past, present and future. At a time when Australia faces uncertainty in its reconciliation journey, this theme calls on all Australians to step forward together. Bridging Now to Next urges us to look ahead and continue the push forward as past lessons guide us.

This year’s event is about bringing the whole community together to better understand reconciliation and explore meaningful ways to work it out together in the City of Onkaparinga. Guided by the cultural principles of respect and contribution, this approach strengthens community relationships and benefits the nation as a whole. We do this by working with Neporendi Aboriginal Forum Incorporated, Neporendi Aboriginal Community Centre staff and volunteers, and with the support of Joining Hands and Minds, a network of local agencies that provide services to the First Nations community.

As a council we continue to support reconciliation through the delivery of our Reconciliation Action Plan 2022-24 (Reflect) and a range of actions across four key areas of Relationships, Respect, Opportunities, and Governance.

This year’s event will continue to be family friendly with dance, music, art and craft, and cultural activities and more!
