Sow, grow, enjoy - Seed Library
Our Seed Library is here! In collaboration with Willunga Environment Centre, the Woodcroft Morphett Vale Neighbourhood Centre and Sustainable Onkaparinga Woodcroft Library are offering the Onkaparinga community the opportunity to take home some seeds.
The sow, grow, enjoy Seed Library is being trialled for one year initially. Seed packets are packed by the wonderful community garden volunteers from Woodcroft and Wirra Creek. The seeds are already sorted into packets, ready for you to take home and plant.
The sow, grow, enjoy Seed Library boxes are located at Woodcroft Library and Willunga Environment Centre. You won’t need a library card to take seeds, but we do ask that in order for everyone to have a fair share, you take no more than 2 packets per household.
It’s worth noting that the number of seeds available will depend on the season – sometimes there will be heaps, other times none or few.
Donations welcome
As the Seed Library is proving so popular, we're now asking our community for seed donations - please drop your seeds to staff/volunteers at Woodcroft Library or Willunga Environment Centre, our volunteers will then pack them into the Seed Library packets ready for display. Donated seeds can be those that you've saved from your garden, or leftovers in packets purchased from a garden centre, either way just pop them in an envelope or zip lock bag and don't forget to write the name of the seeds on them.

To further support and encourage our community to learn to grow their own food or improve on their existing skills and knowledge and in addition to our extensive library collection of growing books, we’re hosting seasonal garden ‘tips and tricks’ tours, and a range of workshops and activities in collaboration with Woodcroft’s community garden volunteers and Sustainable Onkaparinga.Visit our website or follow us on Facebook to find out what’s on and when!
