Move To Live – Exercise Physiology
Sector: Allied Health
Industry: Exercise Physiology
About the business
Move to Live - Exercise Physiology was founded by Meredith Woolsey on a simple belief: that every body deserves to move without fear or judgement.
Ten years in, that belief still shapes everything the practice does.
Operating from two sites in Port Noarlunga South - the original clinic and a fully accessible Studio across the road - the tight-knit team of seven (plus MacDuff the therapy dog) deliver care that's size-inclusive, LGBTIQA+ and neurodivergent-affirming, and trauma-informed.
Above all, Move to Live is designed to empower people of all shapes, sizes, ages, abilities and identities to move more easily and lead joyful lives.
The journey
Trained as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, and driven by a belief in equitable healthcare, Meredith founded Move to Live in 2016, opening her own practice after the clinic she had worked for closed its doors.
For the first six years, it ran as a one-woman show, seeing clients, running group classes, keeping the books and even painting the walls herself when the clinic first opened.
Her first hire came in 2022 - Ash, a former student who had impressed two years earlier. From there, the team grew steadily, each new addition chosen as much for their values as their qualifications.
And by late 2025, something bigger was taking shape just across the road.
The Studio, a fully accessible second site, opened in December. Just two months later, Move to Live celebrated ten years in business.
Why Onkaparinga?
Born and bred in Onkaparinga, Meredith has woven Move to Live into the local Onkaparinga community in more ways than one.
There's the free Friday walking group, open to anyone who wants to get active and enjoy a stroll. The clinic also takes on university and school placement students regularly, supporting the next generation of exercise physiologists, with hopes of growing this into more affordable healthcare options for community members who need them.
Community grants from the City of Onkaparinga have helped fund growth along the way too, including the Studio build, inclusion training for the team and a beautiful mural on the side of the clinic.
The region itself is also part of the appeal, with beaches, hills and a vibrant tourism scene all in one place, plus new residents continuing to arrive.
As the community has grown, so has the need for accessible, affirming care.
Looking ahead, Meredith’s hope is to bring more values-aligned businesses alongside Move to Live, strengthening the network of support around clients.
"As someone who was born and bred in Onkaparinga, I am proud to have set up my life and business here, and to provide accessible healthcare to those in the Southern suburbs who need it most." Meredith Woolsey, Founder at Move to Live - Exercise Physiology
