Artists: Nicholas Watson Materials: Rendered Hebel block, mosaic and paint
This work was a community project led by Nicholas Watson. The project had a steering group of interested community members who were instrumental in planning the historical content guided by the artist, Nicholas Watson. Many community members were involved in making the tiles through workshops and planting of a 300 square metre community garden of which, a remnant remains. Julia Karpatharkas produced the history tiles on the back of the wall from Lita Martella’s photograph collection in her book An Endearing Coastal Town 1840-1998, published in 2000.
The wall was part of the carpark upgrade adjacent to the Arts Centre by the City of Onkaparinga in 2001.
