Sharps and syringes

Please be aware that sharps and sharps container disposal is not permitted in general waste or recycling bins.

Medical sharps containers are not for sale at our offices. Please contact your local pharmacy or supplier of medication for further advice/information about obtaining/purchasing sharps containers.

Diabetics are able to access free medical sharps containers from the needle exchange program at the main counter of Noarlunga Health Village and can also take their used containers there for safe disposal.

Below is a list of pharmacies within the City of Onkaparinga who accept used syringes from residents with medical conditions (needles and syringes must be returned in a medical sharps container).

Sharps bins are also located at our five offices at Aberfoyle Park, Noarlunga, Willunga, Aldinga and Woodcroft for customers to dispose of syringes (syringes must be in hard, rigid containers, preferably specific medical sharps disposal containers).
