This cottage is located close to the early brickworks established by the Atkinson brothers in the creek off Colville Road. It is possibly constructed of bricks from the brickworks, although the brick sections of the walls are painted. The side wall indicates a change in materials from brick to stone but the sequence of construction is hard to determine.
The cottage was owned by Alf Brittain until sold to its current owners.
