Media response to On the Coast.

• Just wondering if there has been any update on the Port Noarlunga stairs?

The specialist equipment required to do this work must become available to us before we can start.

We’re very keen to get the stairs installed but unfortunately this continues to be delayed because the contractor and required equipment is still in Thevenard, near Ceduna on the West Coast.

They’ve continued to encounter unforeseen delays with the project in Thevenard due to unfavourable weather, which has impacted our previously communicated start date for the jetty stairs installation.

The contractor has now advised us they will mobilise to Port Noarlunga in early February 2020 for site preparation work.

We apologise to our communities for the continued delay but it has been beyond our control.
