Response to News Corp.

• Obviously the government has now ruled out outdoor gyms and playgrounds [due to COVID-19 restrictions].If any council could provide an update today on what you are doing to close all these facilities, that would be great. If you could say how many playgrounds you have in your response that would be great.

While the Prime Minister made recommendations on Sunday night, it is up to each state and territory to apply these. At present, the South Australia government has decided not to close playgrounds, outdoor gyms, or skate parks. However, we have made preparations based on the Prime Minister’s advice and are ready to close these public places if the decision is made here in South Australia. City of Onkaparinga has approximately 250 playgrounds, including outdoor gyms.
