  • The journalist enquired about the City of Onkaparinga's willingness to be involved in future iterations of the AFL's Gather Round concept.

The success of this year’s Gather Round is proof that football culture is incredibly strong in SA. The City of Onkaparinga would wholeheartedly welcome the opportunity to have the best AFL players in Australia demonstrate their skills in any of our great footy ovals across the region.

We would be happy to work with the AFL to assess the suitability of our ovals to determine the best venue, and we’re excited about the potential economic return to our region the Gather Round could bring.

It would also present a fantastic opportunity to promote the amazing attractions of our region—our pristine coastline, world-class wine region, amazing restaurants, and rich local history and heritage.
