• It's that time of year again where I'm reaching out to pull together a story on councils' proposed rate rises for 2025/26.

What is your proposed residential rate rise?

The draft budget, which is currently out for community engagement until 11 May, has a 2.49 per cent rate revenue increase, plus rates from new properties, which is known as growth.

What is the dollar increase for an average property?

The average increase for a residential rates bill for 2025–26 = $33

What was/is the average residential rates bill in 2024/25 and 2025/26?

2024–2025 - $1,910
