Serpentine Reserve BMX track temporarily closed - update 3 July 2026
All asbestos remediation works have now been completed, and the site has been independently certified as clear of asbestos.
This important work has ensured the reserve is safe and ready for the next stage of reconstruction.
Recent wet weather has significantly affected access to the Serpentine Reserve BMX track site and delivery of certified clean soil required to complete reconstruction of the BMX jumps.
As a result, completion of the project will be delayed beyond mid-2026.
Site conditions will continue to be monitored, with rectification works undertaken as conditions improve to ensure the track is completed to the required standard.
The site remains closed to the public while works are finalised. We appreciate the community's patience and understanding and will continue to provide updates as the project progresses.
Until this work is completed, we have 23 other designated bike jump sites across the City of Onkaparinga for you and your family to enjoy, which you can find at onkaparingacity.com/bmx
