Renewal SA has released its final Aldinga Deferred Urban Land Structure Plan to guide the future rezoning and development of the land, which adjoins Aldinga Sports Park.

This 90-hectares of land at Aldinga includes the site for the new birth-to-year-12 school planned to open for the 2022 school year.

The structure plan will guide and ensure significant infrastructure investments are coordinated and result in a well-planned extension to the Aldinga community.

Community engagement on the preliminary and draft structure plans was undertaken by Renewal SA in 2019.

Council has also been proactively engaged in the process, through the development of the Aldinga Framework Plan, and a series of workshops with key community groups, Elected Members and Council staff.

The structure plan will inform rezoning of approximately 90-hectares located within the ‘Deferred Urban Zone’ enable a diversity of low-to-medium density housing and community development. The land owned by Urban Renewal Authority (Renewal SA) is bound by Quinliven Road, Main South Road, Aldinga Beach Road and How Road.

The state government is now seeking feedback on the rezoning through its Aldinga ‘Suburban Neighbourhood Development Plan Amendment’ until Thursday 25 March 2021.
