Media response - Beachside Food and Wine Festival 2024

Published on 30 January 2024

Response to The Advertiser.

  • Would you please be able to provide some comments on the upcoming beachside food and wine festival next month? How many years was the festival closed for? What caused the festival to close? How many people are you expecting to attend? Any comments about how excited you are to have the event on next month?

The festival wasn’t held in 2019 and 2020 because it did not receive funding. Approximately 4000 attendees are expected at this year’s event.

Beachside Food and Wine Festival is one of the City of Onkaparinga’s five annual major events, and the much-loved celebration of local food and wine will again attract thousands from visitors from across the region and further afield.

The free event offers the perfect opportunity to sample gourmet eats, local wine, craft beer and spirits while the sun sets at one of South Australia’s most beautiful beaches.

Not only that, there’ll also be a variety of market stalls, live music and cooking demonstrations, ensuring there’s plenty to do for the whole family.

I hope our recent Santos Tour Down Under stage at Christies Beach will help encourage more visitors to experience the festival, the beach, and Beach Road’s unique shopping and dining experiences, including the SandBAR on the Esplanade.
