The Council is looking to commission a contemporary Kaurna cultural object every two years through an Expression of Interest (EOI) process. We are envisaging this could be a shield, coolamon, hand-woven item, or visual artwork or similar.
Expression of interest closes Tuesday 27 January 2026.

The Bloom is a powerful new exhibition responding to the devastating algal bloom event that has impacted South Australia’s coastline and the communities who enjoy it. This community focused exhibition invites reflection, healing, and creative dialogue about our connection to the sea, the fragility of our ecosystems, and the resilience of coastal communities.
The Bloom will be on display from Friday 6 February - Monday 16 March.
Presented by the Arts Centre Port Noarlunga, The Bloom continues the tradition of celebrating our coastal identity while acknowledging the challenges facing our marine environments. Artists are encouraged to explore themes of renewal, environmental awareness, and collective action through their work.
In 2026, The Bloom exhibition will feature three elements: Photography, Visual Arts and Written Word.
The Bloom - Photographic Exhibition Expression of Interest
The Bloom - Visual Arts Exhibition Expression of Interest
The Bloom - Written Word Expression of Interest
