Bin collection

Please note: these collection issues must be reported within 2 business days of your usual collection day.

The City of Onkaparinga provides and retains ownership of all kerbside collection bins, including those issued prior to council amalgamation. Only council-issued bins are eligible for collection as part of our kerbside service.

Make sure to leave your bin at the kerb so our team can access it.

If the bin is not at the kerb when they visit, this request will be marked as completed/resolved with no further action.

Use this form to report:

  • Missed bins

  • Partially/half emptied bins – when completing the form, please add 'partially/half emptied bin' in the ‘Additional location' text field.

    Rubbish can become compacted in the bottom of your bin and may not fall out when upturned, even after the bin has been shaken by the driver. Loosen any remaining material before submitting this request.

    Please avoid compacting bin contents or jamming in oversized items.

  • Bins stickered as
  • Contaminated
  • Driver unable to access

Report a missed bin collection

What if I miss the two-day reporting timeframe?

  • Take your bin in, then return it out to the kerb for your next usual collection day
  • Take excess waste or organics to a waste transfer station or landfill
  • Check with a neighbour to see if they have space in their bin for the next collection. 

Damaged bin

Please make sure your bin is left at the kerb so our staff can access it.
If the bin isn’t out when they visit, the request will be closed.

Report a damaged bin

In most cases, our team will repair or replace your kerbside bin within 5 business days.

  • Repair:
    • Damaged or missing lid
    • Damaged or missing lid pins
    • Damaged or missing wheels
  • Replacement:
    • Cracked base or split/cracked side
    • Broken handle
      • If the bin is empty, it will be replaced within 5 business days.
      • If the bin has waste inside, it will be replaced on your next collection day or within 2 days after.

Using your bin during repairs

Standard-style bins

  • If your bin needs a new base, body or wheels, please leave it empty on the verge.
  • If only the lid or lid pins need fixing, you can leave the bin at the kerb with material still inside.

Old-style bins

(Round Rapid Rail bins or older grey bins from before council amalgamation)

  • These must be left empty on the verge for replacement.

Lost / stolen bin
