A large complex of winery buildings site on a hillside, the Horndale Winery was established by Messrs Horn and Company in 1896. All the stone for the cellars was quarried on the property. The winery was pruchased by the Basedow brothers in 1909 and considerable improvements were made to the property, including the construction of a large house. The Basedow brothers sold the winery in 1949. The building is still used today as part of the winery operations.
