Our City boasts some of South Australia’s most spectacular scenery and provides an ideal setting for place and business activations.

The Citywide Place and Business Activation Program aims to:

  • grow business capability, innovation and collaboration
  • support businesses in delivering quality activations for broader economic benefit
  • create vibrant and dynamic experiences that celebrate our city’s diverse offerings and culture
  • encourage activation hosts to collaborate and source local suppliers
  • attract new target markets and encourage repeat visitation
  • improve the overall look, feel and amenity of public spaces for visitors and the community.

Encore presents a series of activations throughout the McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Coast region to get you out and about enjoying our coastal scenery and historic townships. The aim is to attract people to our region by bringing laneways, mainstreets and tourism precincts to life and provide a unique and inclusive experience.

What is ‘Place and Business Activation’?

Activations are temporary (pop-up), short-term commercial activities run over multiple days or a period of time. Activations contribute to place making and place management, they spur new and creative ways to stimulate the local economy.

They showcase local products and services, promote our city as a vibrant destination, bolster visitation and investment, build local business capacity and capabilities, keep spend local, create seasonal jobs and so much more.
