Response to Southern Times Messenger.

  • How did the crane on the barge get damaged and what happens now? How much work to install the steps has already been done? Is there any indication as to when work will get underway again?

How did the crane on the barge get damaged and what happens now?

The contractor has advised us that a mechanical issue was identified during routine maintenance.

They’ve told us it will be quicker to change the crane than repair it.

How much work to install the steps had already been done?

The piling work to support the new stairs has been completed.

Now we only need to install the new stairs, which requires the crane to move them into position.

Is there any indication as to when work will get underway again?

By the end of March 2020 weather and conditions permitting.
