A collection of mixed media collages exploring the superficial nature of fast fashion.

Each piece combines watercolour fashion illustrations with colourful plastic washi tapes, symbolising the disposable, glittery and often kitschy allure of modern fast fashion.

The use of washi tapes in these collages is intentional, representing the transient and throwaway culture of fast fashion.

Central to each artwork is an image of a mayfly, an insect whose life span is only 24 hours. This serves as a metaphor highlighting the contrast between the mayfly’s ability to live its life to the fullest within its brief existence and the futile nature of fast fashion, which prioritises rapid consumption over sustainability and longevity.
