Niipu-niipu Wama/Morton Park and Morton Road Sports and Community Hub

This park was formally named on 19 October 2021 following community consultation.  The Aboriginal name ‘Niipu-niipu Wama’ means ‘friendship park’ in the Kaurna language, and this came from a community suggestion.

This park includes both junior and youth play spaces.

The City of Onkaparinga has partnered with the Roger Rasheed Sports Foundation (RRSF), the local community and state and federal governments, to transform the Morton Road Reserve into an active, family friendly destination.

The "life-changing" $3.5 million Christie Downs facility was officially handed over to the community today.
