Aldinga Framework Plan

The Aldinga Framework Plan (AFP) has been prepared to assist Council and the community to provide input into a number of significant state government initiatives currently underway in Aldinga including:

• the Renewal SA led-Structure Plan, and Plan SA’s Development Plan Amendment (DPA) process to rezone 94 hectares of state government owned deferred urban land holdings for residential and other uses,
• the proposed southern school development (birth-to year 12) sited directly west of Aldinga Sports Park, and;
• the duplication of Main South Road.

The AFP consolidates known information about the Aldinga region based on relevant Council strategic plans, asset management plans and other related reports, with a focus on the deferred urban land. It also reflects known and emerging community views.

The AFP identifies issues and opportunities under the following themes:

• Development and Planning
• Transport and Movement
• Landscape, Open Space and Water
• Tourism and Economy

Design and character principles for the proposed Aldinga School are also provided within the AFP, to ensure that the design of the school responds to Aldinga’s unique local context.

There is opportunity for the AFP to evolve over time in response to further investigations and input.

Council and community input into the State led projects is important to ensure that these initiatives align with Council and community views on the future of Aldinga.
