Inhaler / puffer
Drop off used inhalers for recycling at any Blooms the Chemist, Chemist Warehouse or National Pharmacy stores – visit Pharmacycle for local drop-off locations.
If not empty, take medications, in original packaging if possible, to any pharmacy for FREE, appropriate disposal as part of the RUM project (Return Unwanted Medicines).

Actuator
Plastic holder (actuator) – Put in the yellow/recycling bin.
Canister
Empty canister – remove from the plastic actuator and put it in the red/waste to landfill bin or check if your local scrap metal recycler will accept these.
If you aren’t sure if the inhaler or canister is empty or if there is still some medication left, return it to your pharmacy for disposal.
