Water services

High Risk Manufactured Water Systems (HRMWS)

Information and registration form including supplements A and B for mandatory registration of HRMWS located within the City of Onkaparinga.

Rainwater tanks

New houses built in South Australia are now required to install a rainwater tank of at least 1000 litres. The tank must be plumbed into the toilet, to a water heater or to all cold water outlets in the laundry, and the inlet and overflow must be fitted with mosquito proof screens.

Stormwater infrastructure

The City of Onkaparinga is responsible for the care and maintenance of the local public stormwater drainage network.

Wastewater Management and Applications

Complete an application for Council approval to undertake wastewater works.

Many suburbs in our area are not serviced by SA Water sewer, therefore, wastewater created by each premises must be managed by another means. Complete an application for Council approval to undertake wastewater works.

Notification of plumbing works

It is a requirement of the South Australian Public Health Act 2011 and Wastewater Regulations 2013 Section 11 (1) that Notification at certain stages during plumbing work are to be given to Council.

Several areas within the City of Onkaparinga do not have access to SA Water’s wastewater network. For this reason, the council owns and operates a community wastewater management system (CWMS), to collect, treat and reuse or dispose of wastewater in these areas.
