Tree pruning and assessment requests

Trees are vital for our well being in urban areas where there are many hard surfaces, as they provide shade and reduce the impact of radiant heat.

We work to ensure that street trees and roadside vegetation is maintained across our city to ensure that it enhances the local character of townships and meets community needs.

Note:  Shedding of bark, leaves, gumnuts or small limbs, as well as
fauna activities, such as birds, bees and possums are natural events
and not sufficient reasons for tree assessments or maintenance.

We will not remove a tree solely to provide access to sun for light or solar panels, or to enhance your view/outlook. Some pruning may be approved, provided it does not impact on the shape and integrity of the tree.

For any urgent tree issues, such as a tree blocking a road,
please call our Customer Relations team on 8384 0666 during work
hours or 8384 0622 after hours, asap.

For trees on private property please go to our Planning and Development page.

Pruning / maintenance

Please let us know if you notice any trees or shrubs/hedges that require pruning or maintenance, including growing over the footpath, road or council road verge or obstructing vision for oncoming traffic and pedestrians.

Assessment and works occur under a Program Maintenance Cycle where we visit each suburb, 1 week in every 6 weeks, however we are currently experiencing significant delays and may not be able to attend to your request until the next program cycle. All our urgent requests are being prioritised and we will get to all other tree requests as soon as practical.
