Former Loud's Quarry
Description
Believed to be the site of the first slate quarry in Willunga (and the state), the site was discovered and worked by Edward Loud in 1840. Loud was one of the first settlers in the district and initially grew wheat and vines. The quarry closed several years later when the larger Delabole, Martin's and Bastian's Quarries began their successful operations.
