Turning one business’s waste into another business’s resource!

ASPIRE is an online marketplace for businesses to buy, exchange and/or sell unwanted materials and products.

The app intelligently matches potential remanufacturers, purchasers and recyclers, helping reduce waste to landfill, reducing waste management costs, and helping create a circular economy.

The City of Onkaparinga has partnered with ASPIRE to offer local businesses with less than 20 employees free membership to the platform.

Businesses with more than 20 employees in the Onkaparinga region can also access the platform for a reduced fee.

What is ASPIRE?

ASPIRE - the Advisory System for Process Innovation and Resource Exchange - is an online marketplace for businesses to buy, sell and trade resources.

Originally developed by CSIRO and Data 61 as a pilot, the platform uses algorithms to match businesses.

ASIPRE is B Corp certified, which is awarded to organisations that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, legal accountability and public transparency.

What are the benefits for businesses?

The ASPIRE platform allows local businesses to trade, exchange, donate or sell waste resources to help keep materials and products in use, rather than going to landfill.

The platform has helped hundreds of businesses across Australia to:

  • reduce their waste disposal costs
  • develop new revenue streams
  • build new business connections
  • reduce their carbon emissions
  • reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill
  • create new supply chains
  • contribute to the circular economy.

Check out some of the case studies on the website to see how other businesses have benefited.
