PRE-REGISTER NOW FOR TREES
As part of our One Tree Per Child Onkaparinga partnership - we’re offering up to four free native trees to Onkaparinga households, local community groups and small businesses to take away for planting within Onkaparinga - you can pre-register up until 13 June (or until capacity is reached).
By pre-registering, your trees will be guaranteed and ready for collection between 2-3pm at the community tree giveaway day on Sunday, 15 June at the Aldinga Community Centre.
Can’t commit? No worries! Feel free to drop by and enjoy the activities—we’ll be offering any leftover or uncollected trees to all attendees between 3-4pm.
Visit our website for full event and registration FAQs
We'll allocate your trees from a range of species that include:
- Melaleuca decussata(Cross-leaved Honey-myrtle);
- Acacia myrtifolia(Myrtle Wattle);
- Leptospermum continentale(Prickly Tea-Tree);
- Leptospermum myrsinoides(Heath Tea-Tree).
The trees are provided as tubestock, which gives them the best chance of thriving once planted. While they may not be giants, these trees will grow to a maximum height of 3-4 metres, making them perfect for most gardens. These hardy trees are being grown by amazing Trees for Life volunteers using local remnant seed, so they’re well-suited for our region’s drier conditions - plus the legends at Arborgreen are providing free tree guards and stakes for everyone on the day.
By planting pollinator-friendly trees you'll be helping pollinators thrive in your garden and beyond.
One Tree Per Child Onkaparinga is a partnership between the council, One Tree Per Child,Green Adelaide, Arborgreen and Trees For Life.
